History of Ketupat ( the diamonds)
KETUPAT is a South East Asian maritime-based rice dish wrapped in a wrap made of woven leaves of young coconut (janur), and pandan leaves or sometimes from other palm leaves. Ketupat is most commonly found during the Eid celebrations until the next 5 days when Muslims celebrate the end of the fasting month.
KETUPAT cannot be separated from the celebration of Eid al-Fitr. In the celebration of Eid al-Fitr, never separated from the celebration of Ketupat Lebaran. The term has mushroomed in all circles of Muslims, especially on the island of Java.
